Time of Salat.

Time of salat is something that has already been designed by Allah subhanahu Wa ta'aaalaa. The preferred time for Subhi is from dawn till the full brightness of the morning that is sunrise, in case of  Zuhr prayer, it starts from the early afternoon till when the shadow of an object is equal to it in size, Asr begins when an object shadow is equal to it in size till the sky becomes yellow. And the time of necessity for both, extends to sunset. While the time of Maghrib is the time during which the prayer is performed with all it rules and finally the Isha starts from the disappearance of twilight till the first one-third of the night.

Prayers are expected to be performed in arrears because the prayer is regarded as an outstanding debt, as thus, whoever delays its performance till the preferred time expires  has committed a great sin except if he forgets or sleep over powers him. But, then, we decided to make it our habits of not performing the Sallah in it appropriate time!  because of, either to obey a creature or for worldly reasons.

Allahu subhanahu Wa ta'aaalaa said in Qur'an 9: 62; and I quote "  ...it is Allah and his messenger whose pleasure are most worthy to be sought, if indeed they are believers". And the prophet sallah Allahu alaihim Wa salam said and I quote " obey not the creature in disobedience to the creator". This simply means that we should not seek the pleasure of man at the expense of Allah's displeasure.

The act of delaying prayers by the Muslims is now regarded as something halal in our institutions and colleges and this needs to be addressed! Seeking for knowledge is compulsory upon every Muslims, that doesn't mean we should use that as an excuse to delay our salat.  There is time for everything we do, buh, seeking for knowledge has no preferred time compare to prayers.

In a nutshell, we should strive hard in abiding by the preferred time of salat. May Allahu the Exalted, the eternally merciful forgive our sins and guide us to the right path. Aameen.
